President Cyril Ramaphosa and Minister of DTIC, Ebrahim Patel, were welcomed to the One Piece production set by Netflix representatives and their local partners. They were given a tour together with Film Africa, which is a Production Services Company.
One Piece is Netflix's biggest production project in Africa to date - Both in scale and budget, covering South African labor, infrastructure and suppliers. The production involved more than 50 talented South African actors, along with 1000 crew members (67% previously disadvantaged, 46% youth). Plus, an Academy of Creative Excellence mentorship program in collaboration with the SA Film Academy, supporting over 30 budding creatives and technicians.
